Ethan Underwood
Ethan took office in 2009 and is serving his second term on the tails of huge turnout for Republican Candidates in Forsyth County's November 2010 General Election. As Forsyth GOP chair, Ethan has focused on building a strong local party organization that serves as a resource for voters and as a partner with other Republican and conservative groups. During his term as Chairman, the Forsyth GOP has financially sponsored and worked at TEA Party events, supported pro-life and pro-family organizations, and worked with elected officials to develop solutions that reduce unnecessary government infringement on businesses and individuals.
"What I have enjoyed most about serving as Chairman is meeting the people that have made Forsyth County their home and want to be active in the community. We have so much talent and resources in this county. By having a Forsyth GOP that taps into those resources and mobilizes that talent, we can influence major decisions at the state, and even national level. Forsyth County generates the 5th largest number of Republican votes of all counties in the state - that is huge considering our relatively moderate total population. The result is that our state and federal officials notice Forsyth County as a vital voting block, and if we work together, we can get great results for our community."
Ethan is an active member of the Forsyth County community. He has practiced law in Cumming for the last seven years, and serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Cumming-Forsyth Chamber of Commerce. Ethan is also a member of the Lanier-Forsyth Rotary Club.
Ethan and his wife, Tiffany, have four children, and are members of First Baptist Church of Cumming.
